Beginner Pistol Shooting Course

Class Cost: $175 per person.

Fee includes range fees, target, and ammunition. Students who qualify will receive the NRA course completion certificate. This course will qualify students to apply for the Maryland Handgun Qualification License.

This course includes hands on pistol shooting technique instruction and skill development during the live fire component.

Class Length: 8 hours, including range time for live fire session


Attire: Casual dress, no open top dresses or blouses; no open toe shoes, sandals or flip-flops.

Classroom Location: Our small classroom for up to 6 students is in the Canton community of Baltimore. Our larger classroom for up to 20 students is in Essex, Maryland.


Range Location:  We conduct most of our live fire training and qualification in Middle River, MD.

Range Live Fire Session:

  • Students may fire revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.
  • Students fire at least 20 rounds.
  • Students who fire their own handgun should bring at least 50 rounds of target ammunition.
  • Ammunition may be purchased at the range.
